Shipping

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping prices are calculated based on order weight, shipping address and postal service selected. Price options will be displayed at checkout.

All orders over 200 cads receive FREE standard shipping across North America.

How long will it take to receive my item?

Your custom and ready to wear pieces are handmade with care; it will take some time to produce. 

What is a custom piece? 

A custom piece is any item with actual handwriting, paw print, fingerprint hand or foot print. The creation process for these custom pieces is more extensive and requires more time than our ready to wear pieces. 

Please allow up to 2-3 weeks plus shipping time to create your meaningful piece. To find out when your custom piece will arrive at your door check out our shipping chart.

What is a ready to wear piece? 

Our ready to wear pieces include hand stamped pieces, letter necklaces, rings, earrings and anklets. View our ready to wear collection. Our ready to wear pieces are made to order right here in our Edmonton studio and will still require time to create. 

Please allow up to 1-2 weeks plus shipping time to create your meaningful piece. To find out when your ready to wear piece will arrive at your door check out our shipping chart.

Should I Choose Letter Mail?

Letter mail is the least costly shipping method that we can offer for orders under $50. 

This shipping method does not include a jewelry box because it needs to fit in an envelope size mailer. 

This shipping method does not include tracking or coverage and will not be insured if lost during the shipping process. 

This shipping method can take up to 4 weeks to arrive.

We do not recommend this shipping method for any jewelry over $50.

How long will it take for you to process my order?

The processing time for our custom pieces can take anywhere from 10-15 business PLUS shipping. Each piece is handcrafted in our studio from start to finish. From cutting the metals, sanding, gold plating, polishing, soldering and quality inspection.

We do have some pieces that are ready to ship and you will find their specific processing times in the product description.

Can I edit my order after it has been placed?

You may change or cancel any order within 24 hours after you place an order.

To initiate a change or cancel, please contact our team at info@meirako.com. Due to the custom nature of our personalized jewelry, any customized jewelry cannot be refunded or returned beyond 24 hours after purchasing. Please review our Returns & Refunds policies.

How do I submit my sound wave, fingerprint or handwritten note?

Visit the ‘Our Process’ page to learn more about how we create your custom piece and how to submit your unique sound wave, fingerprint or handwritten piece.

Can I add more charms to my necklace in the future?

Yes, you can always add more charms to your necklace in the future without having to order the chain again. Simply contact us by email at info@meirako.com with your name and previous order number and we will be happy to help. 

I have lots of photos for my custom order and I am not sure which one is better?

If you have lots of photos for your custom order and you are not sure which one is best to send, please send us all of the photos by email at info@meirako.com along with your order number and we will review all of the photos and choose the one that will work the best. 

Tips for getting the best fingerprint for your baby!

Getting a good readable, fingerprint of your baby isn't always the easiest task. So here's what we recommend.

1. Try getting the fingerprint while your little one is sleeping. 

2. Have all your supplies ready to go and easily accessible. Supplies you will need are: -pencil-paper or whatever material you want the fingerprint transferred to-something sturdy to place the paper on so you are not bending the paper while trying to get the print. -a few baby wipes for quick clean up

3. Team up! If someone else is around, then have them help out by handing you the supplies so you can move quickly and efficiently. 

4. Get more than one print. Get as many prints as you can while you are getting messy, this way you have lots to choose from. 

Tips for taking silhouette photos of your pet

Our top 4 quick tips for getting the best pet silhouette photos: 

1. Have your pet stand or sit. Any background is OK. If possible have someone assist you by holding a treat out of camera view and tell your pet to sit while you take the photo. 

2. Make sure the camera is at the same level as the subject's head. 

3. Take the picture straight from one side. 

4. Take as many photos as you can. If you are taking the photo using an iphone you can press and hold the shot button and capture many photos in seconds. Then simply choose the best photos and send them into us. If you are not sure which photos will work the best you can send us an email and have us review them for you at info@meirako.com

We use only premium quality materials to ensure maximum durability and a luxurious high luster finish. With care and a little maintenance, your jewelry can keep sparkling through the years.

How do i store my jewelry?

This ones at the top because it is so important!

Exposure to moisture in the air can wear down your jewelry whether it be sterling silver, gold-filled or gold vermeil. No matter how high the quality of metals are, over time this exposure causes oxidation and discoloration. If you are not wearing it, then storing it properly is key! Follow these simple and easy storage tips and your  jewelry will last a lifetime.

• Before storing your special piece, wipe it down with a soft cloth to remove any oils that may be on it from wearing it close to your skin. This will also help to remove any dirt and give it a fresh shine.

• Once it is wiped down, place it in a small individual anti-tarnish pouch or ziploc bag. You’ll want to make sure you get rid of as much air as possible before sealing it to prevent exposure to air.

• Whichever method you choose, the anit-tarnish pouch or the Ziploc bag, ensure it is not stored near a heat source and doesn’t have any weight on it. This can cause discoloration and deformation.

Can I store my jewelry in the jewelry box you sent?

Do you offer a warranty on your products?

All of our jewelry is covered by our warranty for 90 days. Our warranty covers plating issues for gold plated sterling silver products, any chain or clasp defects.

If your jewelry broke within 90 days after you receive the jewelry, we are happy to repair at no extra cost, but the customer is responsible for both shipping fees. If you need a repair done and your order was placed more than 60 days after breakage, fees will apply to repair/exchange.

All repairs will take 2-4 weeks once we receive your item. You will receive an email when the repairs are complete and the product is ready to be shipped. 

We ask that you review the Jewelry care page. General wear and tear, scratches, dents and misuse are not covered under warranty. Please note that all of our pieces are handmade right here in our Edmonton studio and it is very natural for pieces to have very minute scratches or slight markings on them from the creation process. 

PLEASE NOTE ANY TARNISHING CAUSED BY IMPROPER STORAGE IS NOT COVERED BY A WARRANTY.

The warranty does not include size adjustments after pieces are purchased.

We inspect each and every piece before it is sent to you to make sure that you are getting the best quality piece.

Please note that all of our pieces are handmade right here in our Edmonton studio and it is very natural for pieces to have very minimal scratches or slight markings on them from the creation process. 

Returns and Exchanges

How do I return an item?

To return your product, please send your product to us. Please email us, info@meirako.com for more details. 

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.

If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We do not guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

Do you offer exchanges?

Any custom orders, made to order items, or sale items are not exchangeable.

What is your refund process?

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a few days.

I haven't received my refund yet?

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Do you offer returns on sale items?

Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately, sale items cannot be refunded.

What is your return policy for gifts?

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and they will be made aware of your return.
